CHANDIGARH: Reacting to the photograph of a young farmer Harpreet Singh which was used by the Punjab BJP, on its Facebook page to drum up support in favour of farm laws; senior Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) leader, MLA and former Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa on Wednesday said that the young farmer from Punjab whose photograph was illegally used on the page had been sitting among the protesting farmers’ on the Singhu border since the first week of December.
He said that in such a situation, the photograph illegally used by the Punjab BJP on its Facebook page without his permission had exposed the lies of the BJP. Dhindsa said that Harpreet Singh himself had expressed surprise at the picture of the farmer portrayed by the BJP showing its pro-farmer policies. “It is shameful for BJP to use the photograph of farmer Harpreet Singh without his permission. BJP is using clumsy tactics to propagate these anti-farmers black laws and is trying to impose it on the farmers, ” he said.
Dhindsa said that the farmers of Punjab had been opposing the centre's black laws from the very beginning. He questioned the Union government on the poster of a prosperous farmer released by the Punjab BJP and said that if the farmers were happy then what were they doing on the borders of Delhi in this bitter cold.
