Sessions judge life imprisonment to three convicts for killing ASI

KAPURTHALA : Distrct and sessions Judge Amarinder Singh today sentenced life imprisonment to three high way robbers for crushing to death Punjab police ASI and injuring Head constable with their speeding car during Naka at village Subhanpur.
According to prosecution The convicts after robbing two women of their belongings at gun point at village Nadala in May 2016 fled away in their car towards Subhanpur .A police party held a naka on the police information that robbers were coming towards Subhanpur in their car.The police party headed by ASI Surinder Singh and Head constable Harpal Singh when signalled the car to stop the accused broke the Naka and hit the car to ASI and Head constable resulting in instaneous death of ASI and seriously injured Head constable.
Police after a hot chase nabbed the accused who also fired at police party according to public prosecutor Anil Boparai.
The Sessions Judge after hearing the arguments of both the parties awarded life imprisonment to all the three accused identified as Gurpreet Singh,Vijay pal and Gurbej Singh
