Punjab CMs anto-corruption action line sets new record as during one year over 300 corrupt officers put behind bars

Punjab CM reiterates commitment to nake Punjab a corruption free state
CHANDIGARH: Reiterating the commitment of the Aam Aadmi government to make the state ‘corruption free’, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today said that the ‘anti-corruption action line’ launched by state government has set new record as during one year over 300 corrupt officers/ officials have been put behind the bars.

“I pledge that my government will further make strenuous efforts to provide clean, transparent and responsive governance to the people of state” said the Chief Minister in a video message to the people of Punjab.

The Chief Minister further said that Aam Aadmi Party is a result of the anti-corruption campaign due to which they had made concerted efforts to make Punjab free from corruption. He said that from day one after assuming charge of his office they had adopted a zero tolerance policy against corruption. Bhagwant Mann said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that the anti-corruption helpline that was launched by him last year on this day has produced desirable results.

The Chief Minister said that based on the complaints received by people on Whatsapp number 9501200200, the state government has nailed more than 300 corrupt officers/ officials, who have been put behind the bars after initiating action against them. He said that his government had promised corruption free, transparent and clean administration to people for which this initiative has been taken. Bhagwant Mann said that he made a promise with the people of Punjab to root out the menace of corruption, for which this campaign has been started.

Seeking fulsome cooperation and wholehearted support of Punjabis for this noble cause, the Chief Minister said that it is imperative to make this drive a huge success in coming times too. He said that if anyone demands to bribe or commission the public for any work, they shouldn’t say no to him and make an audio/video clip of this and send that on the anti-corruption action line. Bhagwant Mann assured that the Government will enquire about it and if anyone found guilty, he/she will not be spared at any cost adding that every single penny plundered from the general public through corrupt means will be recovered.

Punjab to release pending instalment of 6 percent DA to government employees from July 1 to Dec 31, 2015
CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday announced to release pending instalment of 6% Dearness Allowance (DA) to government employees from July 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015.

Divulging the details a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that he decision will entail an additional financial liability of Rs. 356 Crores to the state exchequer. Reiterating his government’s firm commitment to ensure the welfare of employees, the Chief Minister said that the employees were a critical segment of the state administration and safeguarding their interests was the government’s top priority.
