OP Soni gives clarion call to Punjabis to work for unity and integrity of nation

KAPURTHALA: Cabinet Minister for Medical Education and Research, Freedom Fighter and Food processing OP Soni yesterday urged the People of Punjab to work for the unity and integrity of the nation by safeguarding the democratic values in the country.

addressing the people here at Guru Nanak stadium after unfurling the National flag , the Minister said that our great constitution has provided the equality and brotherhood to its citizens, ignoring their caste, religion etc and we must ensure that the democratic values in the country to remain intact.

He said that it was a matter of pride for him to be here on the soil where Guru Nanak Dev ji gives the message of hard work from holy city sultanpur lodhi.

Remembering the contribution made by the Pujabis in freedom struggle , the Minister said that they not only ensure the security of the country from external and internal fronts but also made the nation self reliant by producing more than 60 % foodgrains of the india.


Talking about the development works in villages under Smart village caimpaign , he said that in district kapurthala under phase -1 Rs 38.6 crore has been spent on 1018 projects besides Rs. 93.50 crore in second phase.

On this occassion Tableaus were also presented by the Health, Education, Municipal corporation, Agriculture and Rural development, out of which the Education departments Tableau got the first position, followed by the Health and Agriculture department.

Earlier the Minister also distributed the sewing machines and Try cycles to the needy ones .

Besides that 65 covid warriors , NGOs were also awarded for their services in the peak of the covid. Besides that 52 Government officials and employees were also awarded for their distinguish services in official capacity.

The Minister was also honoured by the District administration.

The parade and march past was commanded by DSP Sandeep singh Mand.

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included MLA Navtej singh Cheema, District session judge Kishore Kumar, DIG Ranbir singh khatra, Deputy commissioner Deepti Uppal, SSP Kanwardeep kaur, ADC Rahul chabha, ADC D SP Angra .
