CM to address kapurthala residents via VC regarding 'single use plastic' on august 5

KAPURTHALA:Chief minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann will address the kapurthala residents along with the whole state via Video conference to shun the single use of plastic on august 5 . The district level program to be held at virsa Vihar kapurthala.

Deputy commissioner Vishesh sarangal has said that as the National Green Tribunal has strictly banned the use of 'single use plastic' in the entire state from July 1 and administration will not only aware the people about the Bad effects of single use of plastic but also distribute the Jute bags free of cost to encourage more people to use these ECI friendly bags while shopping in market .

He said that an event in this regard is being organized at the local Virsa Vihar from 11:15 am to 12:00 pm in which experts from Punjab Pollution control boards will also share their experience to reduce the use of plating in daily life.

Deputy Commissioner said that the responsibilities have been handed over to the officials of the concerned department to carry out the function in a smooth manner .

He also said that Kapurthala Municipal Corporation is all set to horganizing a special awareness camp to encourage people not to use 19 types of 'single use plastic', including ear buds with plastic sticks, plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags. , candy sticks, ice-cream sticks, polystyrene (thermocol) for decoration, plates, cups, glasses, cutlery such as forks, spoons, knives, pipes, sweets boxes, invitation cards, wrapping or packing around cigarette packets Manufacturing, import, storage, etc. of films, plastic or PVC banners below 100 microns, stickers, etc. have been completely banned.

Apart from this, Jute bags will also be distributed free of cost to the people during the program.
