Bomb hoax at Shri Guru Ramdas International Airport

AMRITSAR: Anonymous caller made a call to Director Airport Authority informing him about a bomb in the flight landed here from Singapore which was also scheduled to take off after an hour around 7.40 p.m.

On receiving a call from an unidentified caller, Airport authority immediately suspended the flight operation and parked the plane away from other planes, said police.

A thorough frisking was being carried out by the CISF troops in the Singapore based Scoot airline’s plane at Shri Guru Ramdas international Airport. Nothing objectionable was traced out so far from any of the passengers who were given clean chit.

A high alert has been issued around the Airport and frisking of all incoming and outgoing passengers have been enhanced.

Flight that landed here in the evening at the Airport was scheduled to take off again at 7.40 p.m to Singapore.

Police said that bomb hoax call was received by the Airport director around 5.00 p.m.

On being contacted Director Airport who confirming the bomb hoax said that a comprehensive search operation was launched thereafter nothing objectionable was found in the flight. Now the flight is cleared and will take off to Singapore.
