JALANDHAR: American Sikhs are living under the shadow of fear and insecurity. Almost every day there are attacks on Sikh Community members where their life and property are being damaged. This happened after the 9/11 attack on the United States and it seems there is no end to these kinds of attacks.
This was disclosed here by Satnam Singh Chahal, executive director of US Based North American Punjabi Association in a press release issued here today. While strongly condemning the recent attack on Prominent Bollywood Star Aman Dhaliwal this is more than unfortunate that Dhaliwal was attacked while he was working in a Gem. Aman Dhaliwal is a very popular actor and has worked in Punjabi, Hindi and Telugu movies. He debuted in the 2007 movie Big Brother alongside Sunny Deol and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. He played Rajkumar Ratan Singh in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles. The attack on Aman Dhaliwal has shocked not only the film industry and his several Lakhs fans worldwide. Chahal said that Law enforcement agencies are investigating the matter, and more details are expected to emerge soon.
Chahal claimed that the attacks on members of the Sikh community in developed countries were not the result of mistaken identity, but violent incidents, which had occurred inside and outside of Several Gurdwara Sahib around the Globe and videos of these kinds of Violence circulated on the internet from time to time..
if the attacks were the result of mistaken identity, then these must have been much more on Muslims, which was not the case. He said they were spreading the message that the Sikhs were a peaceful community, who believed in co-existence. However, their efforts go waste when images of some Sikh persons clashing with kirpans and opening fire in the Golden Temple were circulated across the World.
