All Sikh organizations to be part of Panthic conference on May 31 regarding Respect Act - SGPC Secretary

AMRITSAR: To express national unity by expressing Panthic sentiments regarding the provisions and wordings listed against Sikh sentiments in the “Jagat Jyot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act 2026” by the Punjab Government, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is organising a panthic conference at Gurdwara Patshahi Nauvini, Baba Bakala Sahib on 31st May 2026. Every sincere Sikh and organization should ensure their participation in this Panthic conference.

SGPC secretary said that the SGPC is sending invitations to all the Panthic organizations of the Sikh community, Damdami Taksal, Nihang Singh Dals, Sikh institutions, Singh Sabhas, Diwans, Sikh Federations, Sabha Societies, Udasi, Nirmala, Kar Seva Wale Mahapurush, Sewa Panthi Sampradahs, Gurdwara Committees, Sikh scholars and intellectuals for this Panthic Conference.

In a press statement issued in this regard, Shiromani Committee Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan said that great concerns have been expressed by the community organizations, Sikh scholars and sincere Sikhs regarding this serious Panthic matter.

This Panthic gathering has been called by Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami to discuss with all Sikh organizations in view of the sentiments of the community.

He said that in the name of punishing the culprits of sacrilege, the government is presenting the administrators and servants of Gurdwaras as the culprits in this act and feels a big conspiracy to separate Sikhs from Gurbani, which will never be accepted by the community.

He said that it is the duty of every Sikh to understand this conspiracy of the governments and make his due contribution to get this act amended according to Panthic sentiments.

.He said that every sincere Sikh should also become a part of this national gathering, so that unnecessary interference of the governments in Sikh institutions can be stopped.
