A delegation from MSME Industries, Ludhiana called on PLIDB Chairman Pawan Dewan

CHANDIGARH: A delegation of MSME Industries, Ludhiana under the banner of United Bicycle and Parts Manufacturers Association today called on Pawan Diwan, Chairman, Punjab Large Industrial Development Board at his office and handed over a memorandum regarding the demands of the industries.

The memorandum outlines the challenges facing the MSME sector. Those who say that PSPCL PIU and imposes heavy fines on the industry through 2 part tariffs. According to him, a recent survey has revealed that as on March 31, 2019, there were around one lakh MSME industries in Ludhiana and these industries had a credit of Rs. 24.50 lakh. As a result, MSME units have come down to 90, 000, while credit has increased to around Rs 37 lakh.In this regard, he emphasized the need to sensitize the MSME industry to seek clearance from PSPCL and urged PSPCL to extend the PIL till March 31, 2022 by waiving the amount of this penalty. Similarly two part tariff should be replaced with single tariff and inclusive of all expenses and taxes should be Rs. 5 per unit.
Chairman Pawan Dewan listened attentively to the issues raised by the industry representatives and assured to talk to the Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi for resolving them. He said that the Chief Minister had already given a lot of concessions to the industries and any shortfall would be rectified soon.
The delegation also included Senior Vice President Gurcharan Singh Gemco, Manjinder Singh Sachdeva, Avtar Singh Bhogal, Inderjit Singh Navyug former President and Ravi Verma.
