Kapurthala district so far 7797 patients have availed cashless treatment facility

KAPURTHALA: Civil Surgeon Dr. Jasmeet Kaur Bawa said that under the Sarbatt Health Insurance Scheme, the target was to provide cashless treatment facility to 75% of the population of Punjab.Under this scheme poor and needy families of Punjab are being provided cashless treatment facility up to Rs. 5 lakh per family. She said that a total of 1 lakh 21 thousand 854 families in the district are covered under this scheme  There are 1579 packages and 180 packages have been reserved for government hospitals.

Free second and third class treatment and care facilities are being provided in the listed private and government hospitals in Punjab and Chandigarh.  She said that this scheme was a boon for the people who were deprived of treatment due to the economic downturn.

Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr.  Sarika Duggal said that so far 86665 e-cards have been created and till September 16, 2020, a total of 7797 patients have been treated cashless under this facility.  Has been in  Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr.  Sarika Duggal said that the scheme also covers serious treatments like cancer surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, heart bypass surgery, neuro surgery, spinal surgery, dental and eye surgery besides MRI.  And expensive tests like CT scan to facilitate cashless treatment in government and listed hospitals.
