Two women among six travel agents booked for duping Nakodar resident of Rs`6.051 lakhs

NAKODAR: On a complaint lodged by Nakodar resident Pawan Kumar, The Nakodar city police have booked six fake travel agents including two women for allegedly duping him of Rs 6 .05lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

The investigating officer (IO) Jit Ram said that the accused have been identified as Pritpal Singh Toor resident of Employees’ colony Shahkot , his wife Salony Toor , Niraj Attar a resident of Banda Bahadur Nagar
Ludhiana and his wife Rajni Attar, Rahul Kumar a resident of Chandigarh and Vikrant a resident of Shah Talai Himachal Pradesh.

The Victim complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he had paid Rs 6.05.lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration abroad. However, they neither sent him abroad nor returned the money.

IO said a case under Sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act has been registered against the accused.
