Two arrested for drinking liquor in Gurdwara
NAKODAR: The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested two miscreants on the charge of drinking in a Gurdwara.
Investigating Officer (IO) Paramjit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Pardeep Singh, and Manveer Singh, residents of Chania village.
Gurdwara Managing Committee member Pritam Singh resident of Gurra village, complained to the police that the accused and their accomplice drank liquor in the Granthi's room inside the Gurdwara bundling and breached decorum, and outraged the religious feelings of residents
IO said a case under section 298(injuring or defiling a place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and Sandeep Singh alias Sonu, a resident of Rai Kot in Ludhiana who is absconding, and raids are being conducted to nab him.
