Kapurthala police bust gang of motorcycle lifters, 10 vehocles recovered

KAPURTHALA: Kapurthala police have busted an inter-district gang of motorcycle lifters with the arrest of two accused and recovered ten stolen motorcycles from their possession.

This was disclosed by Senior Superintendent of Police Kapurthla Kanwardeep Kaur IPS while talking to this correspondent here today .

She said that the arrested accused were identified as Gurpreet Singh and Kuljinder Singh both residents of village Lattianwal falling under Sultanpurlodhi police station. DSP (Investigation) Sarabjit Rai said the accused had stolen two motorcycles from Kapurthala and the remaining eight motorcycles from Ferozepur, Jalandhar, Shahkot, and Malsian.

Narrating the arrest of the accused, DSP said police on specific information police had laid nakabandi near Sultanpur Lodhi and signalled the accused to stop and on the search of registration papers found the motorcycle stolen from Kapurthala.

Police parties have been dispatched to arrest the third accomplice.

Police have registered a case. Further investigation are continue.
