Three AAP councilors join BJP, AAP alleges threatened by BJP

CHANDIGARH: Three councillors of Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) today joined BJP while the Supreme court would today hear the case of fraud by BJP in the election of Mayor of city.

The three coucillors are Poonam Devi(Ram Darbar), Neha Musavat(Sector 25) and Gurcharan Kala(Halo Mahra) who were sitting on dharna against BJP for the last two weeks, over night shift theor loyality. Hoping to re-elect Mayor against BJP.s Mayor Manoj Sonkar resigned from his post. There is possbility Supreme court would order re-election of Mayor's post.

The three councillor who blamed BJP for spoiling democracy in India were today praising PM Narender Modi's policies. It is considered a major setback for AAP in Chandigarh.

S.S.Ahluwalia Vice president of AAP said that the three councillors were threatened by the BJP. These are the councillors who were at forefront to criticise the BJP. He said that it was murder of democray and shows to what exent BJP can go to remain in power. He said that people of Chandigarh would give befitting reply to BJP at an approperiate time.

Currently, the BJP has a total of 15 votes in the Municipal Corporation House -- 14 councillors and ex officio member i.e. an MP, in a 35-member House.

The AAP has 13 councillors, while the Congress got seven. The Shiromani Akali Dal has one councillor in the House.

With the shifting of loyalties, the BJP will have 18 votes, while the AAP will be reduced to 10 votes.
