Road safety rules awareness campaign at RBU

MOHALI: Students of the University School of Law (USL) of the Rayat Bahra University organised a road safety awareness campaign. was organized under the guidance and patronage of Chancellor S Gurvinder singh bahra and vice chancellor Prof (Dr)Parvinder Singh of Rayat Bahra University, mohali.
A USL Awareness Squad was formed by Dr Richa Ranjan headed by Gursahib Singh Hundal and Bharti Dogra.

The USL squad went to the highway near the university to create awareness among the people about existing and amended road rules.
Students in four different groups were at different places actively participated and created awareness among passersby about the consequences and penalties of not following road safety rules and laws.
The Law students encouraged people to wear helmets and avoid rash driving.

The students cited about recent incidents in which without wearing seat belt Cyrus Mistry and Jahangir Binshah Pandole (famous businessman), both of whom died on the spot.
In reference to this incident law students told the people about the new law of making seat belts mandatory for rear seat occupants.

When University Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra and Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh were about to enter the campus, the students stopped their cars also and made them wear seat belts even on the rear seat.

The USL Awareness Squad later took a round of the university and made people aware about road safety with charts and slogans with Incharge Swapanpreet and Amanpreet.
