RGNUL organises Regional Workshop on Competition Law and Policy in collaboration with Competition Commission of India

CHANDIGARH: Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab (RGNUL) organised a Regional Workshop on Competition Law and Policy in collaboration with Competition Commission of India (CCI) on March 20, 2024. The Workshop was a critique of the recent amendments to competition law and a discourse on the interplay between antitrust and sustainability practice.

The workshop unfolded with an introduction to the regulatory landscape of competition law by Prof. (Dr.) Anand Pawar, Vice Chancellor, RGNUL.Distinguished panelists, including representatives from CCI, Ms. Neha Raj, Joint Director at CCI and Ms. Sanskriti Jain, Deputy Director at CCI shared their expertise during the workshop. Additionally, the workshop also hosted Mr. Manas Chaudhuri, Partner at Khaitan & Co and Dr. Vijay Kumar, Dean at SRM University, Sonipat, who enriched the discussion from an experiential perspective.

Both the sessions were moderated by RGNUL faculty- Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Associate Professor of Law and Dr. Gurmanpreet Kaur, Associate Professor of Law. Under the visionary guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Kamaljit Kaur and the coordination of the Convenor, Dr. Ankit Srivastava, Assistant Professor of Law, RGNUL, the workshop provided a platform for robust and exploratory discourse on the evolving dynamics of competition regime in India. As the Workshop concluded, attendees lauded the event for its relevance and timeliness, particularly in the context of evolving market dynamics and regulatory challenges. Overall, the workshop served as a catalyst for knowledge dissemination, and reaffirming the commitment to promote fair competition and consumer welfare in the country.
