MOHALI: The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Rayat Bahra Dental College and Hospital celebrated ‘International Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Day’.
Principal of Dental college Dr. Akshey Sharma and Dr. Sandeep Garg, Professor and Head of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, organised a 3-D Model Making competition for the students which was judged by Rayat Bahra University Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh.
Furthermore, an awareness drive was conducted which had the doctors and students of the Dental College distribute pamphlets to educate the general public regarding road safety to prevent maxillofacial trauma besides making people aware about the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
More than 1000 persons were individually catered to in an attempt to create awareness and the programme was widely appreciated.
Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions, lauded the initiative of the Rayat Bahra Dental College and Hospital in organising the awareness campaign which he hoped would greatly benefit the people in general.
