MOHALI: Chandigarh College of Engineering, CGC Jhanjeri, in collaboration with the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell (MIC), hosted a transformative two-day Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp. This event was designed to foster innovation, design thinking, and entrepreneurship among students, teachers, and principals from PM SHRI schools across Haryana and Punjab.
With the partnership of the Wadhwani Foundation, known for its pioneering work in promoting entrepreneurship education, the bootcamp saw active participation from 211 attendees representing various PM SHRI schools. The event was virtually inaugurated by Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE, along with Vipin Kumar, Additional Secretary of DoSEL, and Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice-Chairman of AICTE, who emphasized the crucial role of integrating innovation into education.
At the state level, the inauguration was spearheaded by Dr. Surender Singh Dahiya, Director of SCERT Chandigarh, Dr. Munish Jindal, Founder & CEO of HoverRobotix, Dr. Sajjan Singh, Principal of Chandigarh College of Engineering, and Dr. Vinay Goel, Executive Director of CGC Jhanjeri. The dignitaries stressed the importance of equipping the next generation with entrepreneurial skills that can transform education and create real-world impact.
The bootcamp featured a series of engaging workshops and interactive sessions led by industry experts. Vishal Nair and Aishwarya Aggarwal from the Wadhwani Foundation, introduced participants to the fundamentals of innovation and design thinking. Mohit Nara, CEO of Cut Edge Technology Pvt. Ltd. conducted a session on creating startup roadmaps. Dr. Ati Priye, CEO of the Incubation Centre at CGC Jhanjeri provided insights into turning innovative ideas into actionable projects. Dr. Prachi, Founder and CEO of Remarkable Education Pvt. Ltd., along with Anshika Bansal from IISER Mohali, and Hitesh Gulati, a Human Capital Transformation & Change Management Consultant guided participants on human-centric innovation.
While speaking at the moment M D Arsh Dhaliwal Informed that the bootcamp was a significant step towards cultivating entrepreneurial mindsets among students and teachers, preparing them to drive innovation and lead change in their communities.
