MOHALI: A cultural fiesta and debate competitions marked World Physiotherapy Day' celebrations organized by the Department of Physiotherapy, University School of Allied Health Science of Rayat Bahra University.
On the occasion, more than 200 BPT and MPT students and their faculty participated in various cultural and extracurricular activities.
In poster making competition, Priya Thakur of BPT 5th Semester won the 1st prize, Komalpreet Kaur of BPT 7th Semester won the 2nd prize and Mansi of BPT 7th Semester won the 3rd prize, whereas in debate competition, the 1st prize went to Priya Thakur of 5th Semester, 2nd prize to Mona of BPT 3rd Semester, and the 3rd prize to Tarandeep Kaur of BPT 5th Semester.
In quiz competition, the 1st prize winner group was Aryan and Lovely of BPT 7th Semester, Palak of BPT 5th Semester and Mona of BPT 3rd Semester.
A colourful cultural program was presented by the students of various classes. Dr SS.Gill, Dean (Medical) and former Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was the chief guest. He blessed the students and the faculty with his encouraging words.
Dr Pankaj Kaul, Dean and Dr Lalit Kumar Gupta, Associate Dean, USAHS, welcomed the Guest of Honour, Dr Pradip Kumar Sarkar, Superintendent Physiotherapist, PGIMER, Chandigarh who explained the application of physiotherapy in everyday life with special reference to maternity fitness aspects.
Sarabjeet, acting head, Physiotherapy, along with other faculty Gunpreet Kaur, Kavita, Pankaj and Shakir were also present. Dr Shyamal Koley, Associate Dean and Head (Physiotherapy), proposed a vote of thanks to the distinguished guests.
