A seminar dedicated to 'International Nurses Day-2023' at KCN

AMRITSAR: A seminar on the role and contributions of the profession of nursing was organized at Khalsa College of Nursing (KCN) today in which Khalsa College Governing Council honourray secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina said the nursing was most noble and service oriented vocation. He said there is rising demand of the professional nursing world over and the men are also choosing the profession these days.

Dedicated to 'International Nurses Day-2023', the seminar, said College Principal Dr. Amanpreet Kaur, was aimed to highlight the contributions and role of the nursing today. She said the Covid-19 gave new challenges to the health sector and the nursing was the core to the services. “The nursing profession is such that one need to have sense of social service as one need to serve the patients without any greed and discrimination”, said Chhina earlier.

He said the 'Nursing Day' is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing who was epitome of service and public welfare. Encouraging the students, he said, the doctors as well as nurses play an important role in medical institutions. Dr. Amanpreet Kaur thanked Chhina for chairing the seminar as Dr. Ellina Kumari presented a detail report on the importance of the nursing day.

On this occasion, she inspired the students to fulfill their profession with a sense of service. On this occasion, students participated in various competitions such as chart making, rangoli, poetry, song, modelling and presented hand washing dance. Dr.Neelam Hans, vice Principal, Yashpreet Kaur, Avneet Kaur, Haramrit Singh, Harleen Kaur, Kawaljit Kaur, Ravneet Kaur, Varinder Kaur, Rupinder Kaur, Vandana were present.
