300 students shortlisted at DBU mega job fair

MANDI GOBINDGARH: Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, in collaboration with the District Employment Bureau, organised a State-level “Mega Job Fair 2023'' at the University campus.

Over 700 candidates participated in this job fair, in which 28 companies were invited including Fortis Hospital, Oswal Hospital, Hoshiarpur Automobiles, A.S. Alloys, Madhav Group, Milestone etc. came for recruitment. Around 300 students were shortlisted at a package ranging up to Rs 4.7 lakh.

Pooja Kathuria, TPO, Mohit Kumar, Assistant TPO welcomed Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, Dr Tajinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor as guest of honour and Dr Nadella Vishnu Vardhan, Chief Ophthalmologist, Chairman Set Sarojini Venkataratnam Memorial Society, as the Chief Guest and Dr Chinda Srinivasa Raju, Ap State IMA President, Dr Senorita Isaac (Trade Commissioner Western India Region), Vijay Mohan (GM Madhav Group as Special Guests of the event.

Dr Zora Singh said that the motive of this fair was to give the passing out students as well as youngsters of the nearby areas a platform to get selected in the best of the jobs in their fields. While addressing the media, he said DBU was committed to not only spread education but also to help students get good placements.

Dr Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, congratulated the department for organizing this program and wished the shortlisted students a bright future. She said that it is a matter of pride that Desh Bhagat University has been organizing job fairs for the past several years, which has provided employment to thousands of students.
