In a close and thrilling encounter the Indian pair posted a well-deserved win by 7-5, 6-7 (7), 11-9.
Lucky Loser Mukund Sasikumar of India lost to Viktor Durasovic of Norway 6-7 (8), 6-2, 6-2 in the singles first round match.
