One day workshop held on skill education and training programmes

SHIMLA:To give boost to skill education and training programs one day workshop was organised by Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) in association with  National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) here today.

While addressing the workshop Naveen Sharma State Coordinator, (HPKVN) said that we should endeavour to get maximum output from the training programmes. He said one day workshop would give boost to skill education and training programs in the state. He said that the need of counseling of the parents of the candidates is equally important as candidate’s counseling. How parents giving guidelines to their children’s is very important when it comes to decision making, he added.

He said that training service provider must invite good companies for better jobs and salary package, should have well qualified instructors and apart from these a good amount of advertisements were also required to aware people about the programs.

 Rohan Chand Thakur MD-HPKVN said that Himachal Pradesh has one of the highest per capita income in the country. The disposable amount of income per household was higher than most of the States in the country. Our training program should be good enough to meet the high aspirations of the students of the State. He also suggested to tie up with such institutions for training where four elements should be seen viz Good Mobilization/ Counseling, Good Equipments- for better learning  Good Trainers- for better guidance, Good Industry Connect- for better placement and good salary package. He also said that the candidate selection should be scientific .

 Vasu Sharma NSDC, Apprentice Division enlightened about the importance of Apprenticeship. Demand and supply both the sides can be met by apprenticeship, it works as a bridge between supply and demand and reforms make it extremely industry friendly, he added.

He also disclosed about National apprenticeship promotion scheme where sharing cost of basic training with basic training providers (BTP) up to INR 7500 for 3 months.

Dr. Saneel Thakur, GM-HPKVN welcomed all the guests and gave information about the different training programs being given by the HPKVN through training providers in different sectors and job roles. Skill development is important in overall development of candidate, this ensures the right development of the candidates

Mangat Chauhan, Training Head- HPKVN apprised about HPKVN key Programs, roles of PMKVY, HPSDP and DDU-GKY. Skill trainings being given by HPKVN such as Short term training, Graduate Add-on, RPL, B.Voc., MoUs for specialized trainings. He also disclosed about different infrastructure development being done by HPKVN and equipment upgradation of ITIs.
