Violation of code of conduct hurts Sikh sentiments when CM arrives at Gurdwara Sahib, Uttarakhand: Bibi Jagir Kaur

AMRITSAR:Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee , (SGPC) President Bibi Jagir Kaur has taken stern notice of the violation of code of conduct in the reception of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on his arrival at Gurdwara Sri Nanakmata Sahib.

She said that Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Akal Takht has also constituted a three member committee to look into the matter and submit a complete report to the Akal Takht.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that Gurdwara Sahib has its own code of conduct which no one has the right to violate. She said that forcing the girls to dance for the reception of the Chief Minister was a gross violation of the code of conduct which had hurt the Sikh sentiments.

At the same time, it is against the law for the Chief Minister to be honored with a silver crown along with Sirpao and Siri Sahib while paying homage at Gurdwara Sahib.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that a letter would be written to the managing committee of Gurdwara Sri Nanak Mata Sahib seeking clarification on the incident.

Meanwhile, Bibi Jagir Kaur on behalf of Haryana leader Guni Prakash called on farmer leader Gurnam Singh has strongly condemned the remarks made against Chaduni.

SGPC chief said that this controversial statement made by Guni Prakash was made with the intention of creating a rift between Sikhs and Hindus.

She said that some powers wanted to divide the peasant movement by associating it only with Sikhs which would not be tolerated.

Bibi Jagir Kaur reprimanded BJP leader Guni Prakash and asked him to apologize to the Sikh community for his behavior.
