The Gurdwara Committees of Calcutta passed a resolution against the move to break the Shiromani Committee

AMRITSAR: All the Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees of Calcutta have expressed their commitment to stand with the Supreme Sikh Organization at all levels by passing a resolution against the moves to weaken the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.

This resolution was passed during a special Gurmati function held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Calcutta, which was approved by the Sangat amid cheers. On this occasion, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee General Secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal and Internal Committee member S. Paramjit Singh Khalsa was specially present, who thanked the Sikh leaders of Calcutta for the special resolution to strengthen the Shiromani Committee. In the resolution passed by all Gurdwara Committees during the event, it has been said that the Shiromani Committee is the highest organization of the Sikh community, for the strengthening of which Gurdwara Management Committees of Calcutta are committed. To weaken the Shiromani Committee is to weaken the nation. That is why the management committees and sangats of Calcutta are with the Shiromani Committee.

On this occasion, all the gurdwara managements also expressed their commitment to spread the signature campaign started by the Shiromani Committee for the release of captive Singhs in the entire state.

Speaking on the occasion, Shiromani Committee General Secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal said that the commitment of the people of Calcutta towards the Shiromani Committee, the representative body of the Sikh community, is of great importance, for which he is grateful. Bhai Grewal said that along with the great participation in India's freedom struggle, Sikhs have rendered important services for human welfare all over the world, but it is a pity that the governments do not pay attention to the issues of Sikhs. The governments of the country are adopting a negative attitude towards the Sikhs. He said that the most important Sikh issue of the present time is the release of the captive Singhs, to which India and the respective state governments are not giving justice.

He said that now a people's movement has been formed in the entire country and the governments will have to deal with this issue.

During his address, Bhai Grewal announced that Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami would give religious books worth 1 lakh rupees to Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha. Along with this, on the occasion of the upcoming 150th year of the Singh Sabha movement, the SGPC also assured to cooperate at all levels.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee honored the office bearers of Shiromani Committee by Bengal Cabinet Minister Farhad Hakeem, who arrived as a dignitary during the event. At this time, various constructions done at Gurdwara Sahib were also inaugurated.

On this occasion, among the office bearers of various Gurdwara Committees. Satwant Singh Kamalpur, S. Tejinder Singh Walia, Mr. Bachan Singh Sarl, Satpal Singh, Avtar Singh Ramuwalia, S. Taranjit Singh Narula, S. Ajit Singh, Sardar Buta Singh, S. Inderjit Singh Purba, Devinder Singh, S. Dheeraj Singh, Mr. Bhupinder Singh was present.
