TARN TARAN: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today described his party’s resounding performance in the Taran Taran Vidhan Sabha by election as “ forceful moral knock out to all the combined anti Akali, anti Punjab and anti Panthic forces “ and a massive disgrace for the Punjab Police candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu”.
The resurgence of Punjab’s regional voice “exposes all anti Punjab and anti Panth forces and their co-conspirators. This raises the curtain for the return of a Panthic government of all Punjabis in Punjab in 2027.”
In a stinging swipe at the abuse of state machinery, Mr Sukhbir Badal offered snide congratulations to the Punjab DGP and his officers for making a mockery of their oath and working as party workers of AAP. “ I congratulate DGP Gaurav Yadav and his team comprising State Intelligence Chief PK Sinha, CP Amritsar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, DIG Ferozepur range Harmanbir Singh, SSPs of Tarntaran, Amritsar (Rural), Batala and Moga districts for ensuring the victory of Punjab Police candidate Harmeet Sandhu in the Tarn Taran bye election .

Turning to the political opponents of his party, Mr Badal said , ” For the last ten years , the Congress, AAP, BJP and the so called Panthic outfits have given nothing to Khalsa Panth and Punjab except a highly funded malicious propaganda and hate campaign to mislead Panth and Punjab against their mother party, the SAD. They secretly conspired to deprive Punjabis of their own regional and Panthic voice. And sadly, their lies succeeded for sometime. But true to the Guru’s word , their falsehood is finally being exposed by Panth and Punjab and truth is beginning to triumph. “
Mr Badal said that the fight in Taran Taran was between Punjab and Panth represented by SAD on the one side and the might of the State and its police plus their co-conspirators on the other. “But even their secret under-cover alliance and mutual vote transfer conspiracies could not stop Akali and Panthic resurgence”. Mr Badal said all those who carried out a vicious propaganda against the SAD could barely save their security deposits while the Congress and the BJP actually lost their deposits.
Mr Badal said the Khalsa Panth had also finally seen through and exposed those who sought to misuse the holy Sri Akal Takht Sahib against us. “Panth and Punjab showed these evil conspirators their true place and delivered their forceful verdict against these forces backed by governments and other anti Panth forces”.
The Akali president offered his “heartiest thanks and congratulations to the courageous voters of Tarn Taran Sahib constituency for boldly standing against state power—particularly police repression, threats and use of violence and money power and voting with unprecedented resolve for the SAD’s Panthic candidate Principal Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa”
He also thanked and congratulated “the brave workers and leaders of his party for their unwavering commitment and courage in defying the might of the state police and bureaucracy.”
