SGPC President demanded to stop the release of Dastan-e-Sirhind film

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has demanded a ban on the release of the film Dastan-e-Sirhind from the Punjab government.

In a statement issued by the Shiromani Committee office, Advocate Dhami said that in this film, the younger children of the tenth Guru have been filmed, due to which there is a lot of anger in the community.

He said that many organizations and associations are expressing their protest against the release of this film. Many objections in this regard have also reached the Shiromani Committee.

He said that there is nothing greater than the feelings of the community, reflecting which the release of this film should be stopped immediately.
He said that the Punjab government should immediately take necessary action in this regard and along with this the Film Censor Board should also reconsider its decision.

He also clarified that the Sikh organization Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has not issued NOC to this film.
Advocate Dhami said that any decision regarding any film related to Sikh history is taken in the light of Sikh history, principles, Sikh ethics and traditions, therefore the SGPC is committed to the sentiments of the Sangat and Sikh principles in the case of this film as well. . He said that the government should also decide to ban the film according to Sikh sentiments on this serious issue.
