AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Mr Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the desecration of Holy Gutka Sahib of Gurbani in Basant Nagar, Ludhiana.
Mr Dhami said that at present there is an atmosphere of elections in Punjab and some people want to spoil the atmosphere of the state by disrespecting Gurbani.
He said that when the issue of indecency comes to the fore the sentiments of the sangat are hurt.
The SGPC President said that incidents of desecration of Gurbani have been taking place continuously for some time now but no appropriate action is being taken by the government.
He said that the culprits of the recent incident at Ludhiana should be arrested immediately and severe punishment should be meted out to them.
He also appealed to the Sangat to be vigilant in the election environment so that the ploys of Panth Dokhis could not succeed.
