AMRITSAR:Deputy Chief Minister Mr. O.P. Soni today said that in order to provide affordable healthcare to the people of Punjab, scanning centers have been set up in all the major government hospitals in the state, including MRI. Tests are included, will be done at a very affordable price.
Mr. Soni said that not only these scanning centers would provide their services 24 hours a day every day without any leave.
Speaking at the inauguration of the first such scanning center at Civil Hospital, Amritsar, Mr. Soni said that for this the Punjab Government has entered into an agreement with a reputed company of the country which would set up all these centers on PP mode.
He said that these centers would provide their services at the test rates fixed by the government which are 60 to 70 percent less than the market.
He said that MRI centers would be set up in 6 major civil hospitals of Punjab, scanning centers in 25 hospitals, one state level lab at Mohali, 30 pathology laboratories in district hospitals and 95 collection centers for small health centers.
He said that these centers would serve about 2.8 crore people of Punjab. The Deputy Chief Minister said that all these centers would be operational within next 2 months which would be a great relief to the people.
Speaking on the occasion Director Health Mr. GB Singh said that the company has been successfully providing health services in 15 states before Punjab and its visit to our government hospitals would be a great relief to both the patients and the doctors.
Speaking on the occasion MD Kishna Diagnose thanked the Punjab Government for its support and assured that we would spare no effort in providing world class healthcare facilities.
Among others Deputy Commissioner Mr. Gurpreet Singh Khaira, Commissioner of Police Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill, Civil Surgeon Mr. Charanjit Singh and other officials were also present on the occasion.
