CHANDIGARH: The reports of resignation by Sunil Jakhar president of Punjab unit of BJP has sparked political controversy, giving fuel to opposition parties to attack BJP.
Though BJP general secretary Anil Sareen has denied the reports but Jakhar himself has not refuted the reports of his resignation. It is learnt that Jakhar in a meeting with PM Narender Modi had expressed his displeasure over working of state party leaders. He had offered his resignation. Jakhar, former president of PPCC had joined BJP before Lok Sabha poll.
Jakhar's alleged resignation from his post days before Panchayat elections in Punjab has caused embarrassment to BJP. The PPCC president Amarinder Sinhg Raja Warring has also tweeted to taunt Jakhar and asked him "what is next Jakhar ji".
