Punjab government will ensure sustainable development in urban areas: Vijay Inder Singla

SANGRUR: The Punjab Government under the leadership of Capt. Amarinder Singh will leave no stone unturned to ensure the sustainable development of the urban areas. While expressing these views Punjab School Education and PWD Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, while participating in the virtual program for the launch of various schemes under the leadership of the Chief Minister from the District Administrative Complex, said that the previous government had made even bigger promises to the people in the name of development but Capt. Amarinder Singh had enabled Punjab to provide proprietary rights to needy people. He said that apart from the efforts of the government, he has been personally ensuring that the benefits of the welfare schemes were extended to the people and would make Sangrur a model constituency in terms of development.

Elaborating the schemes launched during the program, Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that today the Congress government has launched five new schemes for the people of the state including giving land ownership rights to the slum dwellers besides launching smart meters, Dheeyain di Lohri celebrations, launch of e-Daakhil Portal and distribution of sports kits to the youth. He said that on this occasion, Capt. Amarinder Singh had also announced to start free distribution of free sanitary pads which would prove to be a milestone in the healthy life of the women.

Mr. Singla said that Punjab has also become the first state to introduce 4G meters with the aim of bringing more transparency in electricity bills. He said that these smart meters would not only ensure transparency in the supply and consumption of electricity but would also enable almost all the works related to electricity to be done online. Elaborating on the e-Daakhil, he said that now any complaint regarding food and consumer affairs could be lodged online. He said that today the Punjab government has also started distribution of 2, 500 sports kits which help in nurturing national and international level players by motivating the youth to get involved in sports.

On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Ramvir, Chairman Rajinder Singh Raja, Chairperson Jasvir Kaur, ADC Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, SDM Yash Pal Sharma, Vice Chairman Mahesh Kumar Meshi, Chairman Anil Gheecha, Chairman Naresh Gaba, Chairman Pardeep Kad, Chairman Varinder Panwan, DFSC Tarwinder Singh Chopra, Assistant Director Arun Kumar and other dignitaries were also present.
