Protest march to be held on July 10 against ban on film 'Sutlej' depicting atrocities against Sikhs
AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee will take out a protest march to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar on July 10 to protest against the ban on the film 'Sutlej', which narrates the life of Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra and the atrocities committed against Sikhs.
Giving information in this regard, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that while the film Sutlej narrates the work done by Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra for human rights, this film also depicts the police atrocities committed against Sikh youth.
Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra fought for justice for those innocent youths whose fake encounters were made by the police. This film has exposed the atrocities committed against Sikhs by the government administration. The government has tried to suppress the voice of truth by banning this film, which is in no way justified.
He said that the Shiromani Committee will hold a protest march to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar on July 10 to express its protest in this regard and to convey its voice to the government and a memorandum in this regard will be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner.
