CHANDIGARH: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab co-incharge Raghav Chadha on Sunday, conducted a road show in favor of the AAP candidates in Dera Bassi and Ropar for the upcoming municipal bodies’ elections. During the road show, the people gave an overwhelming response to the AAP. Raghav Chadha appealed to the people to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party candidates to end corruption in the local bodies and for the urban development. Addressing the gathering on the occasion,
Chadha said that the people of Punjab had given chances to SAD-BJP and the Congress for the development of their region, city and village; but these parties had backstabbed the people. “These traditional parties have betrayed the people and filled their own homes. People have lost faith in these parties and now they have faith in the Aam Aadmi Party, ” he added.
Chadha said that the people had handed over the power to Badals and Captain; but their poor policies had drowned Punjab. “During the SAD-BJP government, all sorts of ‘mafias’ were rampant in Punjab and to stop this, the people handed over the power to Captain, but Captain Sahib also became the kingpin of these ‘mafias’, under whose patronage, all these illegal activities are running in the state, ” he said.
Chadha said the only change was that now the commission goes to Captain, the Congress leaders and their cronies, instead of the Badals. He said that a recent survey conducted by a media group had exposed the reality of Captain Amarinder Singh. “According to the survey, Captain Amarinder Singh's government has proved to be the most useless government ever. The surprising thing was that the Punjab government was being run by a retired officer of the state and Captain Amarinder Singh himself was resting in his posh farmhouse, ” he added.
He said that people of Punjab never wanted a regime in which mafia rule prevailed. The AAP leader said that today Congress ministers, leaders and their cronies were filling their coffers by looting the property of the state. He said that the law and order situation in Punjab was completely ruined. Chadha said that the Aam Aadmi Party has brought a ray of hope for the people of Punjab.
“People have lost faith in traditional parties and have trust only in AAP, which can live up to the expectations of the people of Punjab, ” he added. Chadha said that the people would oust SAD, BJP and Congress in the coming elections and form the Aam Aadmi Party government. He said that with the formation of the AAP government in Punjab, the model of Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi would be implemented in Punjab. “The government agencies working in the fields of education, health and other areas of Punjab would be strengthened, ” he added.
