PUNJAB NEWS EXPRESS | December 05, 2020 07:04 PM

CHANDIGARH: Taking on Badal family, Punjab Health & Family Welfare and Labour Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu today said that the Punjabis especially the farmers will never forgive the sins of this family who eager to remain in power at any cost.

The Cabinet Minister said that Harsimrat Kaur Badal had initially supported and promoted these draconian black laws in Council of Ministers to save her berth in Union Cabinet and after that the entire Badal clan including Parkash Singh Badal had been openly supported and publicized these laws termed them as pro farmers for four consecutive months. “They (Badals) even said that Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh has been misleading farmers on the issue of farm laws but these laws are pro farmers and will provide much needed respite to farmers community, ” he said adding that the the family (Badals) opposed these laws only when they came to know that the people of Punjab would not allow any of their members to leave their homes.

Terming the announcement of Parkash Singh Badal to return Padma Vibhushan award as political gimmick, Mr. Sidhu further said that these maneuvers are meaningless as it was like giving medicine to a patient after his death. He said that this award was also given to Mr. Parkash Singh Badal by the Union Government for compromising the interests of Punjab in the hands of Modi Government in exchange to ensure Cabinet berth for Harsimrat Badal.

The Health Minister has also requested the Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib to withdraw the Panth Ratan Fakhar-e-Kaum award given to Parkash Singh Badal as this person has been overpowered the entire panth and panthic institutes like Mistletoe (Amar bel). Badal family has amassed disproportionate assets worth over trillions but the Panth and Punjab is facing critical issues.

Mr. Sidhu said that if Shiromani Akali Dal had opposed the abolishment of Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act, abolishment of special rights for minorities and states, then the Modi government would not have been able to dare to bring these black laws on agriculture sector.

The Health Minister said that the Shiromani Akali Dal was equally accountable as Bhartiya Janata Party for making these anti-farmer laws against which the farmers have to fight hard. He said that it was known fact that the people of Punjab will never support Badals enjoying the autocratic powers in Shiromani Akali Dal.
