Devotees going to Pakistan to participate in the celebrations on the occasion of the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji have received passports with visas.

Devotees going to visit the Gurdwaras in Pakistan on the occasion of the martyrdom day of the fifth Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, will leave from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee office tomorrow, June 10 at 8:00 am.

The devotees who have got visas received their visa-stamped passports from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee office today.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has entrusted the leadership of the Jatha to member S. Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, while member S. Gurmeet Singh Booh will accompany him as the deputy leader of the Jatha.

Today, while distributing passports to the pilgrims who have received visas, Dharam Prachar Committee Secretary S. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal said that every Sikh yearns to visit the Sikh shrines left in Pakistan and it is natural for the pilgrims going in the Jatha to be excited and happy.

He said that the Shiromani Committee has made all necessary arrangements for the Jatha and on June 10 in the morning, the Sangat will be sent from the Shiromani Committee office as per Panthic traditions.

He said that this time the Shiromani Committee had sent passports of 561 pilgrims for visas, out of which 541 pilgrims have been issued visas by the Pakistan Embassy in Delhi.

He said that the pilgrims who could not reach to get their passports today should get their passports before the departure of the Jatha.

On this occasion, Additional Secretary of Shiromani Committee S. Bijay Singh, S. Jaswinder Singh Jassi, Deputy Secretary S. Gurmeet Singh Muktsari, Superintendent S. Nishan Singh, S. Malkit Singh Beharwal, In-charge of Travel Department S. Jagjit Singh etc. were present.
