DC hands over certificates to girls under "Self Defense Training Program"

Kapurthala: Deputy Commissioner  Deepti Uppal today distributes certificates to the girls students who had successfully completed karate training under the "Self Defense Training Program" launched in government schools with the objective of imparting martial arts training to the school girls.

Congratulating the trainees on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that " it will strengthens the self-confidence of the girls " as their physical and mental health improved with that.

Calling upon the students to avail the benefit of this free training being imparted by the Punjab Government, Deputy commissioner said that the teachers should ensure the large participation of girls in this program.Launched under the slogan "My Safety, My Responsibility, I Will Prepare for It", the ninth and eleventh class girls are being imparted karate training in phases.

Under the first phase about 500 girls have been imparted training in the district under the guidance of Asian Gold Medal winner Gurpreet Singh Rosi Sethi.Girls who have successfully completed the training course will also be given the opportunity to train other students as instructors, Deputy commissioner added.District Program Officer Sneh Lata, Principal S. Navchetan Singh and others were present on the occasion.
