Cabinet minister Anmol Gagan Mann launches E-booking facility for Virasat-E-Khalsa and Dastan-E-Shahadat

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government led by Chief Minister S.Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously striving to provide maximum facilities to the tourists from the country and abroad to show the buildings and museums that show the history and heritage of Punjab with the aim of increasing tourism in the state.

A special seminar was organized today in Chandigarh on the occasion of World Tourism Day. Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Mann participated as the chief guest. On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister launched the e-booking facility for Virasat-e-Khalsa and Dastan-e-Shahadat.

Speaking on the occasion of World Tourism Day, Punjab Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Labour, Investment Promotion and Grievance Redressal, Ms Anmol Gagan Mann said that the important role played by tourism in enhancing socio-culture, generating employment and driving the country's economy. Today is widely celebrated as World Tourism Day across the world to highlight the role played by the country.

The Minister said that Virasat-e-Khalsa museum located at Anandpur Sahib showcases the rich heritage of history and culture of Punjab to inspire the visitors with the eternal messages of the great Gurus and vision of the Gurus for the entire humanity. She said that Virasat-e-Khalsa has become a distinct identity not only in the country but in the whole world. She said that the museum located in Chamkaur Sahib is a "Dastan-e-Shahadat Theme Park" which depicts the sacrifices made by Punjab Sikhs. On this occasion, the Minister emphasized the use of modern technology to share the history and heritage of Punjab with the tourists of the country and abroad to the officials of the Department of Tourism and Culture.

Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture Department, Mr. Tejveer Singh, Director of Tourism and Culture Department, Mr. Karnesh Sharma, besides eminent dignitaries associated with the tourism industry were especially present in the seminar.
