Bir Devinder Singh demands to probe JCT land scam by CBI

PUNJAB NEWS EXPRESS | July 28, 2021 10:54 PM

CHANDIGARH: Former Deputy Spekaer Bir Devinder Singh in a statement here today said that after the legal opinion of the Punjab Advocate General Mr. Atul Nanda, submitted to Punjab Chief Minister, on the questionable sale of 31 acre, prime land of JCT Electronics in Mohali, just for 90 cr to a private realtor; it has become abundantly clear that the state exchequer has certainly been robbed of 125 cr, as per the legal opinion of the AG.

He stated that although the amount of losses, caused to the State exchequer is much larger in this case, as compare to the assessment made by the Advocate General. It appears that the huge financial conspiracy was hatched against the vital fiscal interests of the State with brazen assurance by some corrupt bureaucrats at the helm, with the active participation of the Minister for Industry & Commerce Mr. Sunder Sham Arora. They all may have pocketed huge money in the deal; otherwise there was no reason to audaciously overlook the financial interest of the State. Such black sheep’s in the State administration, must be identified and be brought to justice, besides taking punitive action against them as per the service rules, if the Government of the day has any moral commitment to eliminate the institutional corruption, that has already eaten up the vital organs of Punjab.

He added, "I am sure that the script of the scam was initially designed by the higher Authorities of the Punjab government and thereafter the Punjab Infotech passed the baton to PSIEC for its implementation. These officials were silent spectators till the date I uncovered the scam on 24th of December 2019 before the media at Mohali . I have also presented the documentary evidence to the office of the Chief Secretary Punjab with the request to ensure the safe custody of all the essential documents so that the vested interests may not destroy the evidence in the matter. But unfortunate this matter was intentionally made subjudice before the Hon’ble High Court, in order to buy time for the cover up operation to put veil on the scam".

I wonder as to how the assessment & finding of AG Punjab is much lower than the demand of Rs. 166 Cr made by the Punjab Infotech . This matter needs to be investigated by CBI as many higher ranking bureaucrats of the Punjab government, including a senior Minister are directly involved.

It is also pertinent to mention here that after my undeniable exposure of the huge irregularities committed by the bureaucrats and the Minister concerned to alienate the State property, an IAS, MD of the Punjab Infotech, was transferred overnight from the Punjab Infotech and his agenda for the meeting of the BOD of Infotech, for the approval of the sale of the land in question was deferred, due to the sole reason, that the issue was adequately highlighted by the print and electronic media and resultantly the proposed meeting of the BOD was postponed without giving any cogent reason.

Therefore I demand a thorough probe by the CBI in the matter as the trail of money invested in the bid and call details of the bidders i.e. M/s GRG Developers and Promoters, between the higher authorities of the Punjab government and sale of plots to Public through the advertisement appeared on the official website of the successful bidder namely www.grgcyberhub.com and the successful bidder namely www.grgcyberhub.com and also the sudden closer of the same website after the issue was raised by me in the media, is also a matter of thorough probe by the CBI, said Bir Devinder Singh.
