CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) state Kisan Wing on Saturday announced a compensation of rupees two lakh to the aggrieved family of Gajjan Singh from Khatra village (Samrala), who died due the prevailing cold conditions during the farmers' movement.

In a statement from party headquarters on Saturday state Kisan wing president and Kotkapura MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that while precious lives of farmers were being lost due freezing cold conditions and other mishaps, the haughty and hamstrung Modi government was not ready to shed its ego and hold hands of the farmers.

Kultar Singh Sandhwan has demanded that the Punjab and Haryana government should ensure full loan waiver to the families of the martyrs, compensation and a government job to a member of family in the event of 'death' of any protester during the ongoing farmers' agitation.

The Kotkapura MLA said that the Kisan wing of the party had announced a financial aid worth Rs two lakh to the aggrieved family of Gajan Singh who died during the agitation.

Kultar Sandhwan further said that the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi was extending selfless service to the farmers as tireless volunteers, adding that the Delhi government had paid a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the mechanic who lost his life in a freak fire accident. The party was extending all kinds of help to the struggling farmers, including 'langar', clean drinking water, and makeshift toilets, medical facilities, availability of ambulances, round the clock.
