A total of 13,889 people were vaccinated in the district on Sunday

GURDASPUR: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq informed that 13889 people were vaccinated against covid in the district till 5 pm on the same day (Sunday).

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people of the district to get the vaccine from those who have not yet got their first or second vaccine after the stipulated time.

He said that in view of the forthcoming Assembly elections, vaccination should not be neglected or delayed so that 100 per cent eligible voters could cast their votes on the day of polling on February 20.
He further said that 321 teams have been constituted by the health department for vaccination against covid vaccine in the district to expedite the vaccination.

He said that people should not be negligent in getting vaccinated keeping in view the health of themselves, their family members and the people around them.

Expecting full cooperation from the people of the district in view of the forthcoming Assembly elections of 2022, the Deputy Commissioner said that it was very important to get vaccinated against the third wave of Corona virus and people were getting serious about it day by day, which was a good sign.

He said that apart from this the health department has also expedited the vaccination of 15 to 18 year olds. He said that he is hopeful that those who have not yet been vaccinated will be vaccinated.

He also appealed to the residents of the district to follow the precautionary measures along with vaccination.
