4 lawsuits filed against violators for negligence on lockdown and covid rules

NAWANSHAHR: Police here today have registered four cases in the district against those who were found abusing the lockdown and Covid rules. Besides, 976 persons without masks were tested for Covid and 83 challans were issued.
Disclosing this here today, SSP Alka Meena said that Gurdeep Singh alias Deepa, son of Rawal Singh, a resident of Amargarh Bhangal and Ram Kumar alias Raju, son of Ram Sarup, a UP resident currently residing at Garhi Ajit were booked at Aur police station for keeping their liquor shop open during lockdown. Further, a case was also registered against Sukhwinder Singh, son of Nand Lal, resident of Bakkar Khana Road, Nawanshahr, for violating the lockdown rules by opening his dhaba at Kachheri Road, Nawanshahr. Similarly, a case was registered against Amit, son of Raju, a resident of Majara Kalan at Sadar Nawanshahr police station for keeping his junk shop open at bus stand Jadla. A case was also registered against auto-rickshaw driver Dilbag Singh, son of Jagat Ram, a resident of Kaulgarh, who was coming to Balachaur from village Julewal side, for boarding passengers on his auto-rickshaw without maintaining social distance.
She said that today the police along with various medical teams also got conducted Covid tests of 976 persons who were moving without masks in public places in the district while challans to 83 persons without masks were also issued.
SSP said that the media van of Saanjh Kendra and the chief officers of the police stations were alerting the people to take precautionary measures against Covid. She appealed to the residents of the district not to show indifference towards the Covid rules and not to go out of their houses during the period of lockdown and night curfew and not to take this deadly disease lightly. She warned that strict action would be taken by the police against the negligent users.
