LUCKNOW: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be making an electoral debut Uttar Pradesh next year.
The party will contest all seats in the upcoming zila panchayat elections.

AAP MP and in charge UP, Sanjay Singh said that, "We have decided to contest all zila panchayat seats. For this, those wishing to contest elections on an AAP ticket will have to fill up a form and submit to the district level executive committees. These will then be vetted by the state executive."

He also added that there is likely to be a major reshuffle in the party organisation at both the state and district level, aimed at the next election.

"Each member of the executive will have to spend at least 10 days in a month in the district allocated to them for the purpose of organisation building and at least two hours each day for party work in their home district, " he added.

Sanjay Singh further said that AAP would be launching protests across the state against various policies of the state government, starting with the issue of unemployment. He also questioned the ongoing Mission Shakti programme of the government, saying that there were serious concerns about the safety of women in the state.

Sanjay Singh has been continuously touring Uttar Pradesh since August and is leading the party from the front. The state governments set up over a dozen cases against him, he remains unrelenting.
According to party sources, AAP will testing waters with the panchayat elections before it makes a debut in the 2022 assembly elections.
