Hero MotoCorp donates ‘First Responder Vehicle to Hoshiarpur health authorities

HOSHIARPUR: As part of its ongoing CSR initiatives towards Covid-19 relief efforts, Hero MotoCorp has donated a specially designed ‘First Responder Vehicle (FRV)’ to the health authorities at Hoshiarpur today.  

The  FRV was handed over to Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Civil Surgeon Officer, Hoshiarpur. Among others, Cabinet Minister for Industries and Commerce, Punjab, Sunder Sham Arora was also present during the occasion.

This unique and utilitarian vehicle will be useful for reaching out to patients in the rural and remote areas and comfortably moving them to the nearest hospitals.  The FRV has been custom-built as an accessory on the powerful Xtreme 200R motorcycle of Hero MotoCorp.

The FRV has been equipped with a full stretcher with a foldable hood mounted on the side, essential medical equipment such as a detachable first-aid kit, oxygen cylinder, fire extinguisher and other safety features such as LED flasher lights, foldable beacon light, emergency wireless public announcement system and siren.

Vijay Sethi, Chief Information Officer and Head –CSR Hero MotoCorp, said, “In keeping with our relief efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, Hero MotoCorp has been providing FRVs to front-line health personnel in different states to assist patients in rural and remote areas. Designed and developed by the engineers at our R&D facility the FRV is fitted with all the necessary medical equipment that offers urgent assistance to patients who require to be transported to the hospital.”

Till date, Hero MotoCorp handed over 53 FRVs to the government authorities in various states, including Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

As part of its relief efforts for the people impacted by Covid-19, Hero MotoCorp has already distributed 23-lakh meals, 34, 000+ ration kits, 37, 201-litre of sanitizers, 44-lakh face masks and 44, 000+ PPE kits to government hospitals, Police departments and other agencies.
