Dalbir Goldy named Congress candidate for Sangrur Lok Sabha bye-election

CHANDIGARH: Congress party today announced the name of Dalbir Goldy former MLA as its candidate from Sangrur Lok Sabha bye-election to be held on June 23.

Goldy is former MLA from Dhuri and he lost the election against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in the last assembly elections.

Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Gurmel Singh a party activist from Sangrur seat. Simranjit Singh Mann president of SAD(Amritsar) has also filed his nomination papers. The SAD and BSP have fielded Kamaldeep Kaur sister of Balwant Singh Rajoana who is facing death sentence in murder of former CM Benat Singh.

BJP which contested the previous elections in alliance with BJP is expected to field a turncoat Kewal Dhillon who defected from Congress to BJP yesterday in the presence of Amit Shah. Kewal Dhillon was denied party ticket in the last assembly elections.
