Polling party reached remote polling station Bara Bhangal by air

DHARAMSALA: Dr. Nipun Jindal, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Kangra said , “For the remote polling station Bada Bhangal in Kangra district of Himachal , the polling party has reached from Baijnath on Wednesday, 9 November, through Helicopter and on November 10, the rest of the polling parties will leave for their respective polling stations.”

The Election Commission will set up a polling booth in Bara Bhangal, the remotest village of Kangra district located deep in the Dhauladhar ranges for 100 voters. Situated in the Dhauladhar snow ranges of the Himalayas at a height of 7, 700 feet, Bara Bhangal is considered to be the remotest village in the hill state. A polling booth was first set up in the village during the Assembly elections in 2007, after 60 years of independence.

Dr. Nipun Jindal said there were 470 registered voters in Bara Bhangal village. Out of these, 370 voters have migrated down to Bir in Kangra district due to the onset of winter

Dr Jindal said, “ the polling personnel have an important responsibility to strengthen the confidence of voters in the electoral process during polling. That is why it is very important that the polling personnel fulfill their duty with utmost seriousness and conduct free and fair elections.” Dr. Nipun Jindal was addressing the election officials and personnel in the last election rehearsal organized for the polling personnel in Dharamsala. More than 400 employees in Dharamsala participated in this third and final rehearsal .

Presiding over the election rehearsal, SDM Dharamshala Ms Shilpi Bekta gave the final training to the election officials and employees. Additional Deputy Commissioner Kangra , Gandharva Rathod was also present on the occasion.

At the same time, the last election rehearsals were organized for the polling personnel in all the other assembly constituencies in the district too . There are 15 assembly constituencies in the district.

Himachal will go to poll for 68 seat state assembly on 12 th of this month and the result shall be announced on 8 th December.
