Villager arrested for attaching Shahkot police

SHAHKOT:The Shahkot police have arrested a villager on the charges of attacking Shahkot police, ransacking police station building and
damaging vehicles.

The investigating officer (IO) Buta Ram said that the accused has been identified as Harprit Singh alias Rinka son of Kimat Singh a residents
of Nangal Jiwan village.

The IO said that that the accused along with others had pelted stones on police personnel including SHO and injured them seriously,
ransacked the police station building and damaged vehicles parked inside and outside on August 8.

IO said a case under section 307(attempt to murder) 353(assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty.)
186(voluntarily obstructing any public servant in the discharge of his public functions, ) 332(voluntarily causing hurt to deter public
servant from his duty.), 323(voluntarily causing hurt), 427(mischief) 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC and sections 3\4 of the Damage to
Public Property Act was registered against the accused and others
