Two injured in firing during marriage function

PHAGWARA: Panic developed during a marriage function held in a marriage palace in Phagwara, some miscreants opened fire and attacked upon two persons after an heated argument followed by scuffle between accused and the victims on merely car parking issue in Windsor Palace here last night.
Superintendent of Police Phagwara Sarabjit Singh Bahia along with DSP Paramjit Singh rushed to the spot.

SHO City Surjit Singh said that one Balwinder Singh sustained bullet injuries while the other Balbir Singh sustained sharp edged weapons injuries in the clash.Both injured were first admitted in local civil hospital phagwara but were referred to Ludhiana due to their serious condition, said Senior Medical Officer Lehmber Ram.both injured belonged to bride family.

Meanwhile Senior Superintendent of the Police Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh while confirming the incident told this correspondent here today that three accused identified as Amit Kumar, Daman and Vijay all residents of jalandhar have been arrested and the police have recovered the weapon 32 bore pistol and two empty cartridges used while committing the crime.SSP said that their five others accomplices accused managed to flee along with other weapons .The Police have registered a case under section 307/326/324/341/506/148/149 and arms act of IPC, told SSP.
