Three Nabbed for Demanding 5 Lakh Ranson

PHAGWARA:The Phagwara Police today successfully arrested
three persons including twowomen under section 384/506/120B of IPC on
the charges of blackmailing and demanding ransom of Rs Five Lac from a
Phagwara trader Tejinder Singh.

Senior Superintendent of the Police Kapurthala Rajbchan Singh Sandhu
while talking to this correspondent here today said that the arrested
accused were identified as Balbir Kaur, resident of Kaharpur PS
Mahilpur district Hoshiarpur, Vandana resident of Behibalpur PS
Mahilpur district Hoshiarpur, and Avtar Singh resident of
Behibalpur PS Mahilpur district Hoshiarpur.The Police have also
recovered Rs One Lac amount of ransom from the arrested accused.SSP
said that the victim in his statement told before the police that he
was running a Shoes shop in Phagwara and the accused Balbir Kaur was
a regular customer of his shop, and she borrowed Rs 20, 000/- from him
on June 19 for few days, but she did not return back, when he demanded
his money on phone the accused Balbir Kaur asked him to collect his
money from her village residence on June 28.The Victim alleged that
when he went to her house to take back his money, She with the
connivance of two other accused Avtar Singh and Vandana made sexual
attack and forced him to take off his clothes and her accomplices made
video. The Victim said, then main accused Balbir threatened him to
viral his nude video and demanded Rs Five Lac as ransom money.They
snatched his purse containing Rs 6500/- also. The Victim wanted to
save his life and image and the accused took Rs one Lac from him on
June 30 near Phagwara Bus Stand, but the accused threatened and
blackmailed him to give remaining amount. SSP Sandhu said after swift
but thorough investigation the police succeeded to nab all three
blackmailer accused who would be produced before local judicial
magistrate on July 2 ie Saturday.
