Man Booked for Allegedly Abducting Minor Girl on Promise of Marriage

PHAGWARA: Phagwara, July 5: The Nakodar Police have registered a case under Sections 363 and 366 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in connection with the alleged abduction of a minor girl after she was reportedly lured away on the pretext of marriage.
According to the police, the complaint was lodged by S.N., originally a resident of Malda district in West Bengal and currently residing as a tenant in Mirapur, Nakodar.The complainant alleged that Karim Ali, a resident of Malda district, West Bengal, allegedly enticed his minor daughter and took her away on July 3, on the promise of marrying her.
Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR under Sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman to compel her marriage) of the IPC and initiated an investigation.
Police said the accused is absconding, and efforts are underway to trace both the accused and the missing girl. Further investigation into the case is in progress.
