Gang of robbers busted; three arrested

NAKODAR: The Nakodar city police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang of robbers with the arrest of three accused. Three sharp edged weapons and three motor cycles (without without registration numbers) were recovered from their possession.

Acting on a tip-off, Nakodar city police conducted a raid at play ground of Arya School where they were planning for robbery. Three accused were arrested and sharp edged weapons and three motor cycles (without registration numbers) were recovered from their possession.

Nakodar deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Navneet Singh Mahal said that the accused have been identified as Hari Ram , Amandip Singh alias Amana residents of Shamsha Bad village under Nurmahal police station and Gurbindar Singh alias Jita a resident of Sangat Pur village under Bilga police station

DSP said that a case under section 399(making preparation to commit decoity) and 402(assembly for purpose of committing decoity ) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and their absconding accomplices Jass alias Jassi and Jindari alias Jindar residents of Dharme Dian village .

DSP said that the accused are notorious criminals and cases against them are pending in various police stations. The accused were produced in a court, which remanded them to police custody.
